Day One at the Happiest Place on Earth
The moment we reached the Disneyland Resort Line we were like little kids all giddy and excited to get our Disneyland adventure rolling and the train made it even more exciting! From the Mickey shaped windows and handle rings to the music playing in the background and the over all feel of the ride!
Here’s a shot of us four girls all geared up to hit the Hong Kong Disneyland park! Good thing the sun was up and shining! I had an amazing time with these girls — If you watched the video I made then you’ll see us in action. If you haven’t then click THIS link and enjoy!!
We spent the ENTIRE day at Hong Kong Disneyland despite the early flight, the long MTR rides to the resort and all the eating and enjoyed every bit of it!! Read on to see more photos and be ready to read all about my first day at the Happiest Place on Earth!!

Speaking of the Disneyland Resort Line train, here’s how the Mickey shaped windows looked like. Very cute idea and it got all the kids excited when it came to the station! You can see that it was packed because it was one of those peak season months so we were definitely not alone, haha!
Right after checking in at the Disney’s Hollywood Hotel we went to Hong Kong Disneyland Hotel to grab some lunch at the gorgeous and delicious Crystal Lotus restaurant. I couldn’t help but snap loads of photos, from the beautiful ambiance, the delicious food up to the spectacular food decorations. It’s definitely a great place to go to with the family cause not only will you enjoy but your kids/siblings definitely will as well!
We started our meal off with a Pomelo Nectar and Shrimp Salad. It had a little spice to it but at the same time, the pomelo nectar made it sweet, definitely something I like!
Then they served us three dishes, perfect for four so we each got to try them all! First up was Mickey’s Seafood Glutinous Pancake. It was so good and that chili sauce was TDF!
The second of the three dishes they served were called Little Green Men Pork and Vegetable Bun. I didn’t want to eat them cause they looked ADORABLE!! BUT!! Good thing I did cause it was sooooooo good! HAHA!
The last dish of the three dishes was the cutest of them all (and Cams’ favorite cause she loves pigs) — The Three Little Pigs Barbecue Pork Bun. I know it says three but for us they made an exception since we were four! HAHA! I swear each time the served us food we could help but giggle and take photos cause of how cute they were!
Braised Seafood Soup with Mickey’s Shape Pumpkin. Delicious!
This had to be the most BONGGA presentation of all — The Baked Tasmanian Crab Meat Fried-Rice in Whole Crab Shell. Ahhhhh, the savory deliciousness! Ahhhh, the crab meat!! Who cares about carbs, right?!
Last but definitely not least, they served Chilled Red Mickey’s Red Bean Pudding, Chilled Mickey’s Green Tea Jelly and “Duffy” Steam Read Bean Puree Bun. I was so shocked with the presentation, every single thing they served was just out of this world!!
After that scrumptious meal, we went back to the hotel to freshen up before heading to the park. I loved the theme of Disney’s Hollywood Hotel, it had this whole old Hollywood feel to it. Anyway, we rushed getting dressed cause we wanted to hurry to the park already!!
FINALLY MADE IT TO HONG KONG DISNEYLAND!! Oh, and here’s Cams photo bombing, HAHA!!
Main St. USA — Just like Disneyland in California!
A very popular photo spot, Cinderella’s Castle!
The first thing we did at the park was to catch the Water Parade! We didn’t get the memo that we could get wet so we looked silly dodging the water being squirted out direction, HAHA! Luckily I was able to take a few shots while making sure to keep dry (cause we didn’t take look photos yet) and to keep our cameras safe! Nevertheless, it was a cute parade and it helped a lot of park goers cool down due to the intense heat!
As soon as the parade ended we went to Toy Story Land! Did you know that Hong Kong Disneyland is the only one with such a place? It’s exclusive in Asia! Cool huh? Toy Story Land is built in such a was for you to know how it is to feel like being a toy! From seeing Andy’s huge foot print entering, to the toys being big enough for you to think like you shrunk!
Our second ride of the day was the Toy Soldier Parachute Drop (I don’t have photos of us on the Slinky Dog Spin but it’s in the video)! It was a great way to cool off and catch a great view of the park.
Check out Cams, the self proclaimed Theme Park Expert! HAHAHA!!
We then rode the RC Racer, which is apparently the “scariest” ride in Hong Kong Disneyland. I don’t have photos of us riding it but this is what it looked like! It swings back and fourth a number of times and I must say it was a great ride that Cams, Haze and I wanted to go again!! Lissa on the other hand was scared but hey, she survived riding it!
After, we walked on over to Adventure Land and took a chill ride on the Jungle Tour River Cruise. Which had great effects I must say! It was nice way to relax due to the excitement we all had!
Here’s a shot of the Grizzly Gulch, ahhhh! Another great roller coaster! From the quick turns to the twists and turns, you should definitely try it! It’s the newest addition to the Hong Kong Disneyland rides and this is the ONLY Grizzly Gulch ever! We were sad that we didn’t get to ride it a second time cause we had to rush and catch a show. Btw, if you can spot the Hidden Mickey in the third photo then MAN you’ve got great eyes!! BUT! Seriously, there really is a Hidden Mickey there!!
After that awesome ride we hopped, skipped and jumped on over to Fantasy Land and caught the Golden Mickeys. Sadly it was all in Chinese BUT good thing they had a TV with the translations so I was able to understand what they were saying! The show was great! From the dancing, the costumes and the songs they chose! I was happy I got to sing along to the songs, I felt like a little girl again!
For dinner we ate at the Plaza Inn, it’s hosted by Maxims so I knew straight away that this was going to be a good dinner! I didn’t get to take photos of the food cause we were all SO tired and just ate the food straight away, HAHA!
To cap off our first night we caught the Disney in the Stars fireworks show! It was beautiful. I believe Disneyland has the BEST fireworks shows EVER!! This (as always) left me awestruck and just reminded me of so much memories as a kid. Good times.
After the show, we went back to the hotel to finally get some rest and catch up on some sleep. That was one jam packed day and I am beyond happy I got to spend the entire day at Disneyland! We were all ready for day two and were planning what to do during the shuttle ride back to the hotel. More on that during my next post so be sure to watch out for it!! Cheerio!!
